MQM team to meet Zardari, Ebad today



KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation will meet President Asif Zardari and Governor Ishratul Ebad today.
The MQM team, led by Dr Farooq Sattar will meet the governor at 7pm today at the Governor House. The meeting will discuss the relationship between the MQM and PPP and also the future strategy.
The team will meet the president at 10pm at the Bilawal House. The sources told the media that the Sindh governor and Interior Minister Rehman Malik will also participate in the meeting.
Some important decisions are expected in the MQM’s meeting with the president today.

MQM to continue Sindh Assembly boycott

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will continue boycott of Sindh Assembly and the boycott will stay until party’s reservations are removed.

Giving briefing to media in the wee hours of Wednesday, MQM’s Rabta Committee said party will make public its finalized stance after a meeting on Sunday called by President Asif Ali Zardari.

MQM leader Wasey Jalil said President Zardari was apprised about the MQM reservations regarding extortion-money culture and terror incidents occurring in Karachi.

Jalil said President Zardari intently listened to the grievances of Muttahida and showed grave concern over situation in Karachi; adding however, the party’s reservations are still there unaddressed, accordingly, Sindh Assembly boycott will continue.

It should be mentioned here that President Zardari has once again called a meeting of Sindh Governor, Chief Minister and other lawmakers within a week, according to a statement issued after the meeting at Presidency.

Jalil said MQM always treaded the path of principles in politics.

Altaf expresses sorrow on Shumaila's suicide



KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has expressed his sorrow over suicide Fahim’s widow Shumaila and termed the incident as a sad incident.
Faheem was killed by a US national Raymond Davis in Lahore.
In a statement issued from London, Hussain said that instead of providing justice the victim’s family is being pressurized. The MQM chief said Shumaila’s act was the result of her disappointment and another victim’s family members can also do the same if justice is not done to them.
Altaf Hussain urged the government to provide quick justice to the victims’ families.
