KARACHI: Sindh Interior Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza is responsible for unrest, violence and killings in Karachi, said a member of the Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) here on Sunday.
Wasim Aftab a member of the MQM Raabta Committee said today while talking to the journalists that Dr. Mirza is responsible for the unrest in the city and the Supreme Court of Pakistan should take a suo moto notice on his involvement in ongoing row of violence in Karachi.
Farooq Sattar, a senior leader of the MQM, said that the deteriorated peace condition and killings spree in Karachi is a challenge to the writ of President Asif Ali Zardari.
“The President gave us assurance of arrangements for the peace in Karachi but so far no action has been taken on it,” Farooq Sattar added.
MQM is once again reeling on old bad ways and drenched Karachi into blood. The people of Karachi again jumped out of skin MQM has issued license to kill innocent people and burn out their properties. The MQM has responded by condemning the killings as well as incidents of arson attacks. However, this seems to be an exercise of political papering over. Given its history, it is highly unlikely that MQM claims that its activists were not involved in these incidents and these were solely orchestrated by MQM opponents to malign the party. It has almost become a routine that whenever an important member of MQM is killed, it responds with yet more violence, plunging the city into panic and fear. But the major responsibility lies with the MQM since it has been in power in Sindh one way or another all through these years. It is unfortunate that for all the wrong reasons, anti Pakistan elements have supported the MQM from its inception. Recall the era of 1995 when MQM was out of power and Karachi witnessed the worst bloodshed of its history when nearly 3,500 people were killed throughout the city.
ReplyDeleteWhenever MQM sits on opposition benches, Karachi suffers from same agony. It is time we request Govt to bring MQM into Justice for brutal killing of innocent people in Karachi.
