MQM to continue Sindh Assembly boycott

Staff Report
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will continue boycott of Sindh Assembly and the boycott will stay until party’s reservations are removed.

Giving briefing to media in the wee hours of Wednesday, MQM’s Rabta Committee said party will make public its finalized stance after a meeting on Sunday called by President Asif Ali Zardari.

MQM leader Wasey Jalil said President Zardari was apprised about the MQM reservations regarding extortion-money culture and terror incidents occurring in Karachi.

Jalil said President Zardari intently listened to the grievances of Muttahida and showed grave concern over situation in Karachi; adding however, the party’s reservations are still there unaddressed, accordingly, Sindh Assembly boycott will continue.

It should be mentioned here that President Zardari has once again called a meeting of Sindh Governor, Chief Minister and other lawmakers within a week, according to a statement issued after the meeting at Presidency.

Jalil said MQM always treaded the path of principles in politics.
